Musical munificence today comes in the form of Little Boot’s latest mixtape, which includes a spiffingly wicked cover of Madonna’s dirty disco favourite, Physical Attraction.

There is one other thing which you really ought to know. And that is that Little Boots is so far the only musical personage who seems to have mastered the Tenori-on, a marvellous trinket of sound, light and impossibly lovely design that seems to have even Master Noodler Kieron Hebden slightly baffled.

Keen appreciators of musical gadgetry will remember that Yamaha, makers of the Tenori-on, asked various tunesmiths to have a twiddle on it, for promotional purposes only. Although as you will see from the below youtubulations, only Stephen McRobbie out of The Pastels seems to be able get something approaching a tune out of it. As for Battles, they may indeed be math rock gods of Wignerian proportions, but Tenori-on twiddlers they are not. So it is back to the bottom set for them.
