Ting Tings Do Altered Images On Yo Gabba Gabba
Yo Gabba Gabba, the US kids TV show that has Devo's Mark Mothersbaugh in Art Corner and Biz Markie teaching pre-schoolers how to beatbox, has a wicked history of inviting our favourite and best indie bands to create instructional songs about things like brushing your teeth. For starters, they've had The Shins channelling Aaliyah on an original composition called It's OK, Try Again, which is all about not being disheartened when your plan doesn't come together.
If you don't love The Shins after watching this, we can exclusively reveal that you are dead in the ear.
For series 2, YGG have called in the talents of Manchester's finest pop jerkers, the Ting Tings. And they've covered Altered Images' Happy Birthday - singing it to Brobee, the green fuzzy monster whose name rhymes with mine. So essentially, they're singing it to me. You should still watch it though.
For the uninitiated, YGG features a cast of five monsters who can be found inside show host DJ Lance Rock's old school boombox. And they do songs too. Like this one, which has Brobee doing a YGG classic, Party In My Tummy. It's about not leaving your veggies on the plate, and has crying carrots and whimpering green beans. What more do you want - obligatory hip-hop, audience participatory 'oh yeaaahs' and ice-cold electro beats? It's got that too, yo.
Then you should go here for the Ting TIngs (sadly this is not YouTublable yet). And then you should come STRAIGHT BACK for the below video, which puts That's Not My Name AND Party In My Tummy together. Don't talk to any strange internetters on the way or your Moms will be mad.
Finally, may we tempt you with the below photo, which proves conclusively that getting too close to your tellybox has no ill effects, as well as how Yo Gabba Gabba will in fact turn your kid into the hippest of toddlaz. She's dressed DJ Lance Rock.

Excellent and entertaining introduction to Yo Gabba Gabba, Wendy Roby. Thank you. Is banging a big drum officially Miss Ting's ting now, btw?
How very kind you are. It's amazing, no? Like having Robert Plant on Art Attack, or Muse on In The Night Garden. The merch is looooooovely, too.
Wow. I want to get some babies so I can force them to watch it.
Also, I am glad the blue one is a girl too, I thought only the very pink flowery one was gonna be. It'd be perfect if that one was a boy though.
