If you're a broadsheet type, then you'll be aware that festival season is supposed to end with Bestival. Not so! Even though it's quite far away (October) and we're not sure if we're going yet, we're getting quite excited about Iceland Airwaves, partly because it's in Iceland which is dead exotic, and partly because the line-up is looking extremely tasty. And that's tasty + Vampire Weekend, as of today.

So that's Crystal Castles, CSS, Simian Mobile Disco, Cut Off Your Hands and Vampire Weekend, and that's just a tiny selection of what's been announced so far. Here's why that's good:

If, like us, you are unsure about the necessity of going to Iceland for a music festival, then they are doing a little London version, London Airwaves, on Friday 19 September, which sounds like a nice alternative - Wild Beasts, cocknbullkid and The Whip, thanks very much.
