Robyn's Cobrasnake Looks A Lot Like SMD
We have a little bone to pick with the News Of The World's X Factor correspondent, who today described With Every Heartbeat as "a song that only Dannii Minogue has ever heard before". Leave Robyn alone, you div. To redress the balance, here is her new video, for Cobrasnake.

If Next Week's Singles Were Buildings, What Would They Be?
Last week, Foals as poodles. This week, The Saturdays as a Barratts Showhome. It's the singles, silly.

How Does One Improve on Iglu & Hartly's Album Cover?
Part 2 of an irregular series in which we helpfully re-design bad album covers. This week, Iglu & Hartly.

Beardy Man Makes Double Album & Amusing Video
Benji Hughes, a long-haired lady-loving Beck-o-like whose album A Love Extreme is out very soon, has done an amusing videothing which posits him as a shining knight. And it is lovely.

What Is So Good About The Count & Sinden's Hardcore Girls?
We have spent a good portion of this morning listening to the JC remix of The Count & Sinden's Hardcore Girls, trying to work out what is so good about it. We had some thoughts, and it might be to do with Rye Rye:

Something We Like: Koushik
Look everyone, it is not completely grim outside. Which gives us an excuse to point you in the direction of one Koushik, who quite apart from doing all sorts of high-end re-twiddling for the likes of Madvillain, also has a knack for psych-folk and hip-hop influenced tuneage. It reminds us a bit of Panda Bear, and is very good indeed. Listen to Lying in the Sun after the jump:

Crap Bands #3: Grup Tekkan
This week we are inducting German boyband Grup Tekkan into our Hall of Lame. This is mainly because their video looks like a locations recce for people who wish to carry out contract killings. But are they The Crappest Band in the World?

Free Download! Those Dancing Days Cover Britney's Toxic
And not only do they cover it, but they make a tip-top job of it, too. Not like Travis doing Baby One More Time. Not like one of those Live Lounge moaners spoiling a perfectly good pop song by bleeting it out with guitars. Down with rubbish covers! Up with Those Dancing Days!

Kano: 140 Grime Street
Quite why Kano is not number one in every country in the world is a poser which has us scratching our barnet on the daily. Especially given that 140 Grime Street is quite literally AMAZING. 'I got so many garms, I'm clobbered' he says. Our review, in the new handy, cut-out-and-keep pictoral style, after the jump.

Free Download! House Music 100% Guaranteed To Lift Your Mood On A Shit Day (ft. Sia)
Although it is utterly filthy outside, we have been listening to a particularly lovely bit of 'uplifting' house music this morning - which comes to us via NY House DJ Lauren Flax, and features the vocals of Sia. And you can get it after the jump, for nought pence:

The Walkmen Go Nosferatu
We have been listening to The Walkmen's new record quite a lot recently. It is perfect for the gathering storms, battered trees and darker nights of Autumn, when all you want to do is eat chicken and tarragon pie or bangersanmash. As if to prove that the internet is the best thing ever invented, we have this, a marvellous video which accompanies non-single In The New Year. It has Hamilton Leithauser in scary facepaint (our favourite new trend - thank you, Drums of Death) and bits of Nosferatu for added spooky.

Sir Cliff & Oasis: FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!
Best piece of news all day! Cliff's fanbase are frothing with rage at Oasis' new songthing, "The Turning". They say Noel'n'Liam are COPIERS. But what other similarities exist between the two musical criminals? We investigate, thoroughly, after the jump:

If Next Week's Singles Were Dogs, What Would They Be?
Starring Kaiser Chiefs, Sugababes, White Denim, Foals and Attic Lights. But who is a poodle and who's a greedy bulldog? CAUTION: features a lot of cute animals.
