The Streets - Everything Is Borrowed
We tried to like Everything Is Borrowed because it's got that nice way of being really jaunty musically while having depressing lyrics about the end of the world. But after much playing of it, we have come to the conclusion - and it breaks our heart to even say it - that it is a bit like what your sixth form would've come up with if they were asked to make a musical about climate change. With a touch more charm and cheek. In pictures:

What's Up With Kanye's Muppetry?
Here's a clip from Kanye West's new puppet show palaver. As far as we can see it's going to feature a puppet doing bad raps about women with "a baby in the club" and Kanye popping up at the end to say, "Yeah, that was tight, G". All together now: um? Quick, before it gets removed...

The Horror, The Horror: Crap Bands #1
Hello Everyone. My name is Wendy Roby. You may know me from my posts on an amusing internet portal called The Lipster. What you may not know is that I am on a mission to find the CRAPPEST BAND IN THE WORLD. A Pop Idol for the delightfully dire. A Mercury Music Prize for the honkingly heinous. And it starts today.

Amy Winehouse, Madonna As Lego
Literally what it says up there. Lego have done themselves proud with these little plastic popstrels, though Amy probably hasn't looked that fresh-faced in a long while :(

10 Things We Would Rather Do Than Review The New Oasis Album
The new Oasis album, Dig Out Your Soul, leaked onto the internets yesterday, so it's about to get brung out a week early. We were going to review it but after careful consideration decided there were a lot of things we'd rather do than actually have to listen to a new Oasis album...

Watch: Notorious BIG Biopic Trailer
Here's the first look at what next year's Biggie Smalls biopic is going to look like. Reading the character list on IMDB, it must be strange for those people who are still alive to see themselves - Suge Knight, Sean Combs, Faith Evans, Lil Kim, uh, "Crackhead #1". With Angela Bassett on board, though, it could be a cut above 8 Mile. The trailer:

Toddla T: 'Buy My Record, I'm Skint'
Toddla T, remixer du jour (Hot Chip, Jack Penate, Tricky, Roisin Murphy to name but four) and all-round bashment-loving dancehall cove, has a new single - MANABADMAN - what came out on Monday. We caught up with him to talk shoe shops and tried (in vain) to whip up a rug-based feud with fellow noodler Drums of Death.

Plastic Little - Welcome To The Jang House
We've been enjoying Plastic Little's gross-out party hip-hop since Crambodia first came to our attention back in 2006, but since Welcome To The Jang House is their third album, we've got a lot of catching up to do. While we do that, you can see our review of the record, done as a cut-and-paste collage.

Ting Tings Do Altered Images On Yo Gabba Gabba
Legendary hippest of hoppers Biz Markie has been teaching us to beatbox on Yo Gabba Gabba for some time now. But it's the indie cameos which really make the show. After the jump, see the Ting Tings perform Altered Images Happy Birthday. It's what John Logie Baird woulda wanted.

Diddy's 'Swagger Like Puff' Makes Us A Bit Sick
Here is the new song from Diddy, P. It's too rude to be a proper single (and by rude, we mean rubbish), and, as well as ruining an MIA sample, it makes quite literally the least seductive request of a lady ever: "Suck it til your hymen pops."

Estelle: 'Sarah Palin is insane... Vote for Obama else I'm going home'
Today we're introducing a new feature: The Questionnaire. Those brave rock & roll souls who agree to take part will face six of the toughest questions ever. We're going to probe so deeply that it will make a grilling from Paxman look like a natter about EastEnders. So please welcome our first willing victim - it's Estelle!

DOWNLOAD: Gang Gang Dance - House Jam (mp3)
We've been lucky enough to have the new Gang Gang Dance album, Saint Dymphna, for a few weeks now, and it's blindingly brilliant, particularly if you like your music spooky, strange, artsy and testing on the ear (please note: all of these in a very good way). So it's with great pleasure that we offer up these two cuts from the NY combo: Princes features London's own Tinchy Stryder, while House Jam has been played so much round these here parts that we're considering making it our official anthem.
